About Bill Reilly

 

Bill Reilly began his career in Metrology 20 years ago after graduating from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist.  Training under several extremely experienced CMM programmers kick-started what was soon to be an entrepreneurial endeavour.  5 years with Burlington Technologies (Aluminum Die Casting/Machining) led to a position at Kenax Precision (Manufacturers of Aluminum/Magnesium Die Cast Dies) as Quality Manager.  After a short 1 1/2 year stay, just long enough to co-write and successfuly implement ISO9002, Bill left to start the private contract inspection and calibration lab, quickly achieving ISO17025 laboratory accreditation.  Bill operated the lab for over 12 years before moving on to found BR Metrology.

 

The motivation to start a company focusing on CMM programming and Training came from the realization that, not only was there a need in the industry for contract CMM programming, but that there seemed to be little in the way of formal training for CMM inspectors, who were often left to learn on their own.  Operating his own contract inspection and calibration lab has provided a vast amount of experience and discipline, which he now uses to teach and support others in the industry.
